Community Building Workshops experientially introduce participants to processes that promote effective interpersonal communication and strong social connections. Students who have completed the workshop in the past have said that it is one of the most powerful experiences they have had at UW-Milwaukee, allowing them to authentically encounter themselves and others.
Time Exchange is a unique form of mutual aid in which members of a community share resources with one another in a way that strengthens community ties and individual well-being. Combining Community Building and Time Exchange/Mutual Aid enables participants to exchange their talents and time within the context of an evolving and caring community.
We have heard from students that they feel somewhat isolated from each other and their programs in this post-pandemic era. This event provides opportunities for our resilient and talented student body to come together to build strong community. Please consider joining!
If interested, please register. The event will accommodate 30 students, accepted on a first come, first serve basis. After registering, you will receive a confirmation letter and event instructions. We will also inform you if you are placed on the waitlist.
If you have any questions, please contact me, Dimitri Topitzes at [email protected] or 414.229.3004 or Anne Lamb, the Social Work Program Assistant, at [email protected] or 414.229.6526.
